ERNTE Releases New Album 'Weltenzerstörer'
Swiss black metal duo ERNTE has unveiled their third studio album, "Weltenzerstörer," marking a significant evolution in their musical journey. Released through Vendetta Records, the album continues to explore the band's black metal roots while infusing more melodic and atmospheric nuances. ERNTE delves deep into themes of misanthropy, existential search, and the critique of societal constructs. Each track on the album, such as "The Witch (Was Born in Flames)" and "Ruler of Chaos, Bringer of Storm," embodies a narrative of dark folklore and introspection.
The album artwork, featuring a menacing sea monster overshadowing humans, visually encapsulates the album's central motif of overwhelming and destructive forces. ERNTE explains that "Weltenzerstörer" refers not only to the physical annihilation of the earth but also to the destruction of metaphorical worlds like those of twisted thoughts and manipulative societal structures. Not intended as a concept album, it nonetheless carries a cohesive thread of invoking ancient powers to dismantle the corrupted present and rejuvenate nature. The recording and mixing of "Weltenzerstörer" were handled by the band's guitarist and main songwriter, Häxär, at Inferno Studio in Switzerland, with mastering by Greg Chandler at Priory Recording Studio in the UK.
