KATAKLYSM Unleashes Second Single 'Die As A King'
For close to 30 years, the US/French Canadian melodic death metal powerhouse, KATAKLYSM, has been launching relentless surges of potent sound across the world. Their fifteenth full-length studio album, Goliath, is set to stun audiences when it releases on August 11th, 2023, through Nuclear Blast Records.
KATAKLYSM now unveils the second single, 'Die As A King'. This track serves as the prequel to the first single, 'Bringer Of Vengeance', both in terms of the lyrics and the video theme. On a musical note, 'Die As A King' exemplifies the modern reincarnation of traditional death metal combined with irresistible catchiness.
Maurizio Iacono, the band's frontman, shared some insights about the song, saying, "'Die as a King' is the prequel to the first single 'Bringer of Vengeance,'. The song portrays the downfall of King Richard I, the 'Lionheart', and carries a message of standing firm for your convictions till the end, even in the face of certain death. The song features some of KATAKLYSM's signature melodic elements along with a brutal undertone and a rhythm section steeped in grooves, all of which intertwine with each other."
