MAATKARE to Release Powerful Second Single 'May The Gods Bear Witness'
For fans of Nile, Scarab, Arch Enemy, Behemoth, and Kataklysm, the all-female, Egyptian-inspired death metal band MAATKARE is set to release their second single, 'May The Gods Bear Witness,' on June 28, 2024. Following the successful launch of their debut single 'War Before Peace,' this highly anticipated track will be available across all streaming platforms, accompanied by a lyric video.
MAATKARE, formed in early 2020, consists of frontwoman Janneke de Rooy (Beyond The Pale), bassist Amie Chatterley (Dakesis, WomenOwar), and guitarist Georgia Bell (session guitarist for Harper/Thatyellaharper). Despite being a relatively new band, they have quickly gained a dedicated following with their unique blend of historical themes and intense metal soundscapes.
'May The Gods Bear Witness' explores the theme of false prophets spreading misinformation in ancient Egypt.
