THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER Launches 'Aftermath' From New Album
THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER has unveiled "Aftermath," the first single from their eagerly awaited album, Servitude, which is slated for release on September 27th through Metal Blade Records. This marks the band's first new album since the tragic passing of their former vocalist Trevor Strnad in 2022, introducing a new era for the band with significant line-up changes.
Guitarist Brian Eschbach has stepped up to the lead vocal role, demonstrating a fresh direction in their sound, while Ryan Knight has returned to the band, taking over Eschbach’s previous duties on guitar. This shift signifies a poignant rebirth for the band, maintaining the ferocious energy and intricate melodic structures that fans have come to expect.
"Servitude" was largely produced by the band internally, with guitarist and now vocalist Brandon Ellis at the helm in his own studio. The drum tracks were laid down with producer Mark Lewis, known for his work with Cannibal Corpse and DevilDriver, who also assisted in mixing the album. This collaboration highlights a deeply personal project for the band, promising to honor their past while forging a powerful path forward.
