Behemoth's I, Scvlptor entered Poland's official OLiS chart at number one in every sales category, which is not a normal result for a record the band themselves describe as a compilation.
It came out on 4 September through Massacre Records: eight tracks, seven of them studio recordings and one live. Among them are new versions of Rise Of The Blackstorm Of Evil and In Thy Pandemaeternum, a cover of Venom's In League With Satan with Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir, and Bathory's The Return Of Darkness And Evil with Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ.
"Even though it's not a regular studio album and is, in fact, more of a compilation, the mere fact that it contains songs nobody has ever heard before makes it a significant release for us," Nergal said. "That's why we see 'I, Scvlptor' as an important record, a connecting piece, a bridge between where we are now and whatever may come next in the distant future."
The In League With Satan tour crosses Europe from 9 October with Dimmu Borgir and Dark Funeral.
