Absolute Darkness have released Above The Law, the third song from Witness To A Dying World. The album is their second and arrives on 23 October.
The three singles together say what the record is about. Attritional Warfare took the war, Snake Oil took the opioid business, and Above The Law takes power and who it does not apply to. Thrash from the Bay Area has done the political subject since the eighties, and this is a band writing in that line rather than around it.
They formed in San Francisco in 2016 and sit between thrash and death metal rather than choosing. Bill Corry plays guitar and bass on the records, which in a band this size usually means he writes them too.
Ten years from forming to a second album is slow going, and a band that takes that long usually arrives quietly. Three singles out with two weeks still to run is the opposite of quietly.
