Greek death metal band Abyssus have released a video for "Destined To Die", from The Reign, their third full-length album, due on 23 October.
Vocalist Konstantinos Analytis said in a statement that the song took the band into territory they had not explored before, at least not to this extent, and that its lyric is deeply personal: it comes from one of the darkest periods of his life, when depression, nihilism and despair had become his everyday reality. That is why it became the first video from the album.
The album has ten tracks, from "The Meaning Of Pain" to "Trapped In Purgatory". Its artwork is by Andreas Marschall, whose covers include records by In Flames, Blind Guardian and Dimmu Borgir.
The band is Konstantinos Analytis on vocals, Panagiotis Gkourmpaliotis and Konstantinos JaJas on guitars, Manolis Skoularakos on bass and George "Hellgrinder" Tsafos on drums. The guests are Konstantinos Foukarakis of Rotting Christ on guitars, Fotis Benardo, known from Nightfall, Septic Flesh and Nightrage, on drums, and Chris Zoukas of Sacral Rage on bass.
The Reign comes on CD and on a limited purple vinyl. Abyssus formed in Athens in 2011.
