Abythic have signed to Memento Mori, who will release the band's next album.
Nothing else has been announced: no title, no date, no song. What the signing says is where the band are going, and Memento Mori is a label with a narrow and well kept remit, old fashioned death metal put out on CD for people who still buy them, mostly from bands nobody has heard of yet.
Abythic are not one of those. They started in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2015 and have three albums behind them, Beneath Ancient Portals in 2018, Conjuring the Obscure in 2019 and Dominion of the Wicked in 2021, with an EP, Eden of the Doomed, after that. Most of it came through Iron Bonehead Productions.
Five years between a third album and a fourth is a long stretch for a band working at this speed, and the move suggests the record is already made rather than being planned.
