Acherontas are streaming For the Blood of Tiamat, Praxis I in full before Osmose Productions release it on Friday.
Four pieces, and the band have mapped them: Crowned in the Higher Self opens on what they call the Drakonian Current, Abyssic Rite of Self Deification dissolves the ordinary self through blood and fire, the title track is an offering to the Primordial Mother, and the three minute Ex Tenebris Ad Lucem, Ex Lucem Ad Abyssum closes the rite with light and dark folded into each other.
Three of the four run past seven minutes, which is how this band have always worked. Thirty years in, the Greek project have built a catalogue that reads as one continuous argument rather than a run of albums, and the Praxis in the title says there is more of it coming.
CD, twelve inch vinyl and cassette, with digital the same day. Osmose have been the right address for this since the beginning.
