Agalloch's fourth album, Marrow Of The Spirit, is being reissued through Eisenwald with a new mix and a new master. Markus Stock did the mix at Klangschmiede Studio E and Gus Elg did the mastering. The reworked Ghosts of the Midwinter Fires is streaming now.

On the date the sources do not agree, so both are worth putting down: Metal Storm gives 20 November, and Lambgoat, which carries the fuller announcement, gives 11 December along with CD, vinyl and cassette editions and a deluxe box set.

What is being added matters more than the format count. The reissue carries a 2015 live performance of Ghosts of the Midwinter Fires recorded at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, and Nihil Totem, a piano piece written by Jeffery Neblock for The Watcher's Monolith and here finished as a piece of its own.

A remix of a 2010 record is usually a catalogue exercise. This one is the album most people name first when they argue for the band, and the two added pieces are the kind of thing that only exists in a band's own archive, so it is not simply the same record louder.
