Ala have released a lyric video for The Dragon's Return, the title track of their first album, after Kill for Satan earlier.

The project belongs to Damir Mirojevic, who signs himself O. and also Omadan IX, and who started it while he was in the Serbian black metal band Kolac. The stated aim is unusual enough to be worth repeating: to put the hypnotic end of seventies krautrock and psychedelic rock next to the rawness of black metal, in one record, without treating either as a guest. The reference points the band name are Slayer, Motorhead, Mercyful Fate, Sarcofago, Dissection, Nifelheim, Destroyer 666 and Watain, which is a list that explains the riffs rather than the keyboards.

Ala is the Serbian word for a serpent like mythological dragon with great destructive power, and the lyrics across the album deal with rebellion, instinct and transcendence. The line-up is O. on vocals and guitar with M., G. and R. on guitar, bass and drums, and between them they have played in Kolac, Terrorhammer, Pustos, Atomski Rat, Chaoist, Egzekutor and Armburst.
