North Tonawanda is putting him in bronze. A statue and bench memorial to Andy Williams, the Every Time I Die guitarist and professional wrestler, will be built at Gratwick Park in North Tonawanda, New York, the town he came from.
The Andy Williams Memorial is being funded in part by memorial bricks, which anyone can buy with a message engraved on them. Williams died earlier this month, shortly after taking part in a wrestling match near Pittsburgh.
He spent more than two decades in Every Time I Die and, for most of the last of them, wrestled under his own name as well, which is a pair of careers very few people have managed to hold at once. A park bench and a statue in his home town is a plainer memorial than the music, and probably the one he would have recognised.
