Andy Williams, who played guitar in Every Time I Die for the whole of the band's twenty four years, is being remembered on Sunday 27 September at Buffalo RiverWorks, in the city the band came from. It runs from six in the evening until eleven, it is free, and it is being streamed for anyone who cannot get to Buffalo.
Williams died on 5 September at the age of forty eight, after collapsing during a wrestling event in Pennsylvania. He had wrestled for years alongside the band, which is the sort of second life most guitarists do not have.
The night will carry acoustic performances from Stephen Brodsky and Adam McGrath of Cave In, Dan O'Connor and Alan Day of Four Year Strong, and Anthony Green. More is expected to be announced before Sunday.
Every Time I Die formed in Buffalo in 1998 and made nine albums, from Last Night in Town in 2001 through Hot Damn!, Gutter Phenomenon, The Big Dirty, New Junk Aesthetic, Ex Lives, From Parts Unknown and Low Teens to Radical in 2021. The band came apart the following year. Williams was on every one of them.
