Anthrax spent their night off playing. The band are supporting Iron Maiden at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on 25 and 27 September, and on the Saturday in between they took the Roxy in West Hollywood, a room that holds a few hundred rather than a few tens of thousands.
The set, as logged on Setlist.fm, opened with It's For The Kids and went straight into their cover of Joe Jackson's Got The Time, then Madhouse and Metal Thrashing Mad. Keep It In The Family and Now It's Dark followed, then The Edge Of Perfection from the new record and Caught In A Mosh.
That is close to a greatest hits set played in a club, which is what a band does when it wants the night to be about the room rather than about the campaign. The new album Cursum Perficio, their first in ten years, is out, and The Edge Of Perfection was the only song from it in the part of the set that has been reported.
