Blood Incantation will headline the Thursday of ArcTanGent 2027, and Neurosis the Saturday. The festival runs from 18 to 21 August and moves to a new site in Gloucestershire, the first edition there.
Two headliners in a first wave is more than ArcTanGent usually gives away at this distance, and the pair of them say what the new site is for. The Colorado band have spent the last few years turning a death metal audience into one that will sit through twenty minute pieces, and Neurosis are the band half of what ArcTanGent books has been listening to since the nineties.
ArcTanGent has built itself on the part of the map where post metal, math rock and the slower end of extreme metal overlap, which is exactly where those two names sit. Moving the whole thing to a new field is the sort of year a promoter wants a bill nobody argues with.
