Armored Saint have filmed a video for Not On Your Life, a track from Emotion Factory Reset. Metal Blade Records put the album out on 22 May, so the clip is arriving four months behind the record rather than ahead of it.
That is the ordinary shape of an Armored Saint campaign and it has been for decades: the album goes out, the band goes out with it, and the videos follow whichever songs the live set has decided are the ones. They formed in Los Angeles in 1982 and have stayed on the traditional side of heavy metal across all forty four years, including the decade in the nineties when John Bush was singing for Anthrax and the band was not a going concern at all.
The year around the album has been busy by their standards. A run with Queensryche in the spring, European stages over the summer, and festival bookings at Wacken and Brutal Assault, with a follow up record already spoken of.
Not On Your Life is the band's own song, which is worth saying because the last thing they put out was a Four Tops cover, Joey Vera's idea and John Bush's attempt at honouring Levi Stubbs. This one goes back to the album.
