Ash of Ashes have released a video for "The River", the second song from All Must Wither, which arrives on 30 October as the duo's third album.
"A catchy song that fully displays our melancholic side," the band said of it. "In 'The River', constant change and uncertainty meet continuity and familiarity."
The album is seven songs, and the shape of that list is the story. Five of them sit between three and six minutes, and then "The Chronicler" closes the record at seventeen minutes and twenty one seconds, longer than the four songs before it put together. A band willing to end an album that way is not writing singles with a long one attached; they are writing towards it.
Skaldir composes and plays guitars, keyboards, bass and sings, Morten writes the words and sings, and the two of them have kept this going since Down The White Waters in 2018 and Traces in 2022. Simon Bihlmayer plays the guitar solos on three tracks and Dennis Strillinger drums. Markus Skroch recorded, mixed and mastered it at Kalthallen Studios.
