Beast In Black have released "Lost Children", a power ballad from their fourth album Fear The Beast, with a video directed by Katri Ilona Koppanen.

The band's debt to Berserk is old news; the specific one here is not. Anton Kabanen read the Lost Children chapter about twenty years ago and has wanted to write about it ever since. "It had an enormous impact on me when I first read it," he said, "and ever since I wanted to write songs, or at least one, about it."

What he says he was after is the hard part of that story rather than its violence. Rosine becomes an antagonist and does terrible things, and Kabanen's reading holds both of those at once: "You can understand why Rosine makes the choices she does without necessarily being able to forgive what she does."

Musically it is the softest setting the band use, which puts the weight on Yannis Papadopoulos. A ballad is where a singer with that much range either carries a song or oversings it, and the band have put one of the album's named moments there on purpose.
