Beenkerver release Doodlot on 6 November through Vendetta Records. Six tracks: Creatuur, Faux Crescere, Ontgeesting, Radeloos, the title track, and Nalatenschap.

Five of those six are Dutch words, which is not an accident and not a gimmick either. Atmospheric black metal from the Low Countries has mostly sung in English, and the handful of projects that stayed in the local language tend to sound more rooted for it. Doodlot means something closer to a fate already decided than to simple destiny.

One person makes all of it. The project started in 2022, put out an EP the following year, De rode weduwe in 2024 and a split last year, which is a fast four years for a catalogue made alone.

Vendetta Records have been carrying the kind of black metal that does not shout since the early 2000s, and that is the right shelf for this. The album lands in a little over a week.
