Beriedir have released "Diva" through Rockshots, their first song since Liminal Spaces last year, and the two bands they name as the influence on it are Rammstein and Machine Head. That is an unusual admission from a progressive metal band and in this case an accurate one.
The drift has been going on for a while. They started melodic and have been getting darker and heavier album by album, with more harsh vocals and less of the delicacy, and Liminal Spaces was where it became obvious. "Diva" is further along the same line.
Stefano Nusperli wrote the words, about being judged by people who have not understood the thing they are judging, and the chorus is two of them: "Chin high". The five of them wrote the music together.
Nusperli also produced and recorded it at Lighthouse, with Simone Mularoni mixing at Domination, which is the studio half of Italian progressive metal more or less by default.
