Besotten have premiered Cruentation, the second song from Eye of the Monolithicrypt, which arrives on 6 November through Transcending Obscurity Records on vinyl, CD, cassette and digital.
It is the compact one. The Portland trio's first album has five tracks, some short and some running past ten minutes, and the band let each one take its own shape rather than trimming them to match.
Death metal and doom are not two halves here so much as two ways of sharpening the same thing: dense, slow passages that break into faster ones, gritty guitars, bass that is audible and doing something, growls against screams.
Before this there was the 2022 demo In Filth It Will Be Found and a 2024 split with Funerelic.
