Black Royal have released a video for "Extremophiles", the third single from Abyssian, which M-Theory Audio put out on 30 October.

Three singles across the summer and autumn, "Water of the Crow" and "Drown the Seaweed" before this one, is a slow reveal for a record that will be their fourth album. The band have been working since 2013 out of Tampere, in the part of Finnish heavy music where stoner weight, death metal vocals and straight heavy metal riffing all sit in the same song without anyone calling it a crossover.

A name like "Extremophiles" fits a band that has always written around harsh environments rather than around people, and the video is the last piece of the campaign before the album itself.

Nineteen releases are behind them, most of them short, which is how a band of this size keeps a presence between albums. M-Theory Audio, who also carry The Absence, have been the label for the recent run, and the thirtieth of October puts Abyssian out in the same week as a good deal of the autumn's extreme metal.
