Blood Agent have put out Misanthropy, their first album, independently and in full.

Eight songs, none of them past four minutes: "Outbreak of Violence", "Onslaught Epiphany", "Dawn of Extinction", "Firestorm Execution", "Death Is Salvation", "Plague Bomb", "Rotten Belief" and "The Misanthrope". The titles are the genre's standard vocabulary and the band are not pretending otherwise.

The arithmetic is the interesting part. They formed in Bremen in 2013 and this is the second thing they have released in thirteen years. German death thrash is a deep and almost entirely unsigned scene, full of bands who rehearse for a decade, press two hundred CDs and keep their jobs, and a first album arriving this late is normal rather than remarkable.

No label is involved. The whole record is up to be heard, which is the only distribution a band in that position has.

What the songs do with the time is the question a record like this answers in the first minute. Under four minutes each, with titles that promise speed, they are either tight or they are hurried, and there is no production budget standing between the band and the listener either way.
