Blood Of The Earth have released "The Constellation" from Beneath A Sky That Breaks, an EP they put out themselves on 23 October.
The band are a trio built from former members of Crowbar and The Convalescence, and the first of those names sets an expectation that the music then declines to meet. Crowbar made the heaviest records in New Orleans sludge by playing slower and louder than anyone; this is atmospheric by comparison, doom with post metal space left in it.
That is the more interesting choice. Musicians leaving a band of that stature usually carry the formula with them, and starting again at a lower volume takes longer to find an audience.
Four releases in, the band are still putting records out independently, and the EP arrives on the same Friday as a crowded release day, which is a hard place for a quiet record to be heard.
