Blood Thirsty Demons release Equilibrium tomorrow through C:M Releases, and the tracklist is a reading list.

It opens on Liber Librae, a short hermetic text about balance, and closes on the title track. Hermetic, Goddess of Justice, Incarnate Angel and Life Review sit between them. A thrash band from Varese writing about the scales rather than the war is not what the genre trained anyone to expect.

Twenty nine years makes them older than most of what they get filed next to, and it shows in how little the record tries to prove. God of the Witches came out ahead of it with a lyric video, and it is the most direct thing here.

Nine songs on CD through a small Italian label, out tomorrow. Bands at this level in Italy have been quietly keeping thrash alive for three decades while everybody looked at Germany and the Bay Area.

The occult reading is not a costume either. Liber Librae is a real instruction text about weighing yourself honestly, and a band that opens an album with it has decided what the record is about before writing a riff.
