Bruce Dickinson told Chile's Radio Futuro that the first single from his eighth solo album is roughly ten days off, and spent most of the conversation on how the record was made rather than what is on it.

"We worked for three weeks, every day, 12 hours a day, and we put down a total of 18 songs," he said. "And some are left over, because we couldn't get them all on the album, otherwise it would be a double album." The sessions were in January and February at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in Northridge, with Brendan Duffey producing and later mixing in Florida.

Asked about his claim that no artificial intelligence touched the record, he went further than confirming it. "A.I. is not creative. All it does is copy," he said. "It listens to your WhatsApp, it listens to your e-mails, it listens to everything you text, and suddenly you think it's being creative. No, you're being creative. A.I. is just stealing your creativity and chucking it back at you with no soul." He added that there are no samples either.

The album is due in early 2027 through BMG and follows The Mandrake Project from 2024. His band is Chris Declercq and Philip Näslund on guitars, Tanya O'Callaghan on bass, Mistheria on keyboards and Dave Moreno on drums.

Of the first song he would only say that it is about truth, and that the accompanying piece may give the Catholic church something to object to.
