Burning Creation have released Cannibal Viking, the second song from Breath of Fire, which Via Nocturna put out on 13 November.

Marek Klimonda heads off the obvious reading before anyone gets there. "At first glance, it might seem like simply a song about cannibalism," he says. "Beneath this gruesome surface, however, lies a story of moral decay and just how far a person is willing to go to survive, even if the price is losing the last remnants of their humanity."

The record is a narrative one: warriors coming back from the dead to avenge what was lost when people abandoned their old beliefs. A cannibal is simply what somebody on that road eventually becomes.

Musically the band say they are heading towards old-school death metal and away from the melodic and viking elements of their early work, keeping those for specific moments. They name Unleashed, Dark Tranquillity and Hypocrisy, which is a Swedish set of reference points for a Polish band and an honest one.
