Burning Witches announced on Friday that Laura Guldemond has left the band after seven years.

Jennifer Gruber of Fireborn will sing on the road while the search runs. No permanent replacement has been named and auditions are already underway. The band say every announced show goes ahead as planned, and the first of them is 7 November at the Metal At Lust festival in Malta.

Both sides published statements. The band said it tried to find a way forward and ended up accepting her decision, thanking her for the shows and the records. Guldemond said she is proud of the four albums she made with the group and has no hard feelings, adding that "sometimes it's simply time for a change when visions no longer fully align". Her own music is where she goes next.

She took the job in June 2019, the same month Seraina Telli left, and her first show with the band was at Sweden Rock Festival. That makes her the longest serving singer the band have had, and the second to leave in seven years.

Their most recent record is Inquisition, the sixth, released in August 2025 through Napalm Records.
