Carnal Ghoul have a permanent singer for the first time, and the song that announces it is Back to Decay.

Lennart Osterhus of Endseeker was one of several voices on Back from the Vault in 2022, an album finished in memory of Sven Gross, who died of cancer in 2021 and whose absence the record was built around. Dave Ingram, Martin van Drunen, Marc Grewe and Paul Speckmann all sang on it. Osterhus is now simply in the band.

He describes the new song without decorating it. "The track Back to Decay revolves around the pretty shitty notion of experiencing your own death time and again," he says. "Eventually, everything blurs in your head, memory, nightmare, and reality. Yet whatever you do, there seems to be no easy way out of this dreadful cycle."

The video is animated, made by Luiz Arruda of Audiopower, and the album it comes from is Feed the Vault, out on 15 January through Testimony Records with SPKR distributing. The band say the point of this one was to work out who they are now that the line up is settled, which is a reasonable thing to say when the last record was written around a man who was not there.
