Carnal Ghoul have signed a multi album deal with Testimony Records, and in the same announcement confirmed that Lennart Osterhus of Endseeker is now their singer rather than a guest.
The two facts belong together. Osterhus wrote lyrics and sang on the 2022 debut, a record the band finished in memory of a bandmate they had lost, which is the sort of favour that either ends when the album does or turns into something permanent. It turned into something permanent.
A multi album deal is also worth reading literally. Small extreme metal labels rarely commit past one record, because one record is all the risk they can price. Testimony have priced more than one, which says they expect this line up to last and to tour.
No title and no date for the second album. Guitarist Daniel Jakobi promises the band's most ambitious material so far, which is what guitarists say, and the only checkable part of the sentence is that he has a label behind him when he says it.
