Castle have released a film for "Evil Nun", from Carrie Chains, the album Hammerheart Records put out on 4 September.

Seven weeks after a release is late for a first video and early for a reissue campaign, which usually means the label has decided the record has legs. For a band working in this register, heavy metal slowed to doom tempos with a woman singing over it, that is often how it goes: the audience arrives months after the release week, through word of mouth rather than through a single.

The title tells you what the band are doing with the imagery, and they have never pretended otherwise. Occult horror has been their subject since the first record, played straight rather than winked at.

Hammerheart published the film, as they did the album stream, which keeps the whole campaign inside the label rather than farmed out.

Metal Archives files the band in the United States as heavy and doom metal, which is about as close as a genre label gets to what they actually do.
