Castle Rat's whole set from Bloodstock Open Air 2026 is now online, professionally filmed, from the Ronnie James Dio Stage at Catton Park.
For this band that matters more than it would for most. The show is built as theatre: named characters, costume, a world the songs sit inside, and a doom riff underneath all of it. Audience phone footage cannot carry that, and a band whose live reputation is doing the work of three albums needs the version that can.
A full festival set released free is also a calculation. Castle Rat formed in 2019 in Brooklyn and have two albums out on King Volume Records, which is not a catalogue that sells itself at a British festival. What sells it is forty minutes of evidence that the stage show is real.
Doom has always rewarded bands that look like their records sound. This is the rare case where the visual idea came first and the riffs have had to keep up, and the Dio Stage is the right place to find out whether they do.
