Catalyst Crime have a video for "Polaris", and the song has Chris Harms of Lord of the Lost singing on it. It is the second track on Acquired Immunity, which Massacre Records put out two weeks ago.

Alexander Krull directed and filmed it, which is a name worth reading twice in this context: he has spent thirty years in and around German symphonic metal as a singer and as a studio owner, and a band who have never routinely been in one room have handed him the one part of the record that has to look like a band.

That is the standing condition here. Zoe Marie Federoff sings and writes the words, Kaelen Sarakinis and Chena Ohanele play guitars, Jonah Weingarten is on keys, Matt Federoff on bass and Gerit Lamm on drums, spread across Germany, the United States and Canada. Eleven tracks came out of that arrangement and "Polaris" is the second of them.

Putting a guest on track two rather than saving him for a single is the choice that tells you something. A duet buried early in a tracklist is written for the record rather than for the algorithm, and the video arriving two weeks after the album rather than two weeks before it says the same thing in a different way.
