Catalyst Crime release Acquired Immunity today on Massacre Records. Eleven tracks: the title track, Polaris, Cursebreaker, Petrichor and Creosote, Am I Actually Alive, Sing the Dying to Sleep, Who Could Have Done This, A Grief Named Rage, Sick as Our Secrets, Loveletter to Hope and Nothing Has No Name.
The titles do not read like a symphonic metal record from 2010. They read like a band writing about illness and grief in plain language, which is what the album title is doing too, and the band have earned the right to that register by now: they formed in 2017 with members in Germany, the United States and Canada and have never been in one room as a matter of routine.
Massacre have videos out for the title track and for Cursebreaker.
