Chad Gray has cancelled two shows. The Mudvayne singer was due at the House Of Blues in San Diego on 5 October and the Observatory OC in Santa Ana on 6 October, and both are off. He expects to be back on stage on 7 October at the Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas.
The reason is his voice, and he gave it himself on 4 October. "If you saw the Aftershock show, you know I was having a tough one. I've been dealing with some deep vocal issues, and then that day I got sick and was completely on my ass," he wrote. "I need to take some time to rest so I can protect my voice, my health, and hopefully keep this tour going."
He was direct about what it costs him. "I'm so incredibly sorry to my Metal family in San Diego and Santa Ana, but I'm going to have to cancel these shows. It absolutely breaks my heart. I don't want to do this, but I truly believe it's the better decision for all of you and for me." Meet and greet packages transfer to the Las Vegas date or are refunded, and Ticketmaster refunds are automatic.
The run is billed as 30 Years Of Madnesss and has Gray singing Mudvayne and Hellyeah songs with a band of Marcus Rafferty and Joe Bonasorte on guitars, Nick Villarreal on bass and Devin Attard on drums, with Butcher Babies and Devil's Cut in support. It started in the same Las Vegas room on 24 April.
