Channel Zero have confirmed the last shows they will play. The run is called The End Of An Era, it opens at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp on 5 December, and it finishes at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels across three nights later the same month. All three AB dates are sold out.

Thirty six years, with a twelve year gap in the middle. The band formed in Brussels in 1990, broke up in 1997 after four albums, and came back in 2009 to a reception nobody in the country had predicted, including them. Unsafe, from 1994, is the record that made them, and it is still the one that fills a Belgian room.

Frontman Franky De Smet Van Damme gave the reason in the announcement: it had been a hell of a ride, and you also have to dare to close things at their peak.

There were four more albums after the return, the last of them Exit Humanity in 2017, and in 2013 a single called Angel, written for drummer Phil Baheux. The band kept his name in their work rather than beside it.

Ending in the AB is not a neutral choice of venue either. It is the hall where a Belgian band of this size proves it belongs, and they are closing with three nights of it.
