Chaos Motion have put out "Paroxysmal Entity", the first song from their self titled second album on Transcending Obscurity Records.

Seven years separate it from Psychological Spasms Cacophony, the 2019 debut that made their name in the dissonant end of technical death metal. The band started in León, Guanajuato in 2013 and now work out of Strasbourg, and the line up is two people: Juan Pablo Muñoz plays everything, Erik Nuñez sings everything.

The label describes the new record as aggressive and almost militaristic in its discipline, with hypnotic passages between the discordant ones, and puts the running time at just over half an hour. That length is worth noting for music written this densely, where a full hour tends to defeat the listener before the band runs out of ideas.

Midge Sinnaeve did the artwork. Transcending Obscurity have carried this corner of death metal for years, and a band naming an album after itself seven years into a discography is usually saying the first one was a sketch.
