Chemicide will release Self Devour, ten songs, through Listenable Records in 2027.
A Costa Rican thrash band on a French label is the part worth noticing. Central America has no metal industry to speak of, which usually means bands either stay local or stop, and Chemicide have been going since 2008 with five albums behind them and are now on a roster that reaches European shops.
They recorded it at home and in pieces: drums at Apex Studios with Alberto Teran, guitars and bass at Fox Lab with Sandy Quiros, vocals at Estudios Mediocres with Frankie and Chalo. Splitting one record across three rooms in the same city is what a band does when no single studio can give it everything, and it is a long way from the way a label record usually gets made.
No date beyond the year has been given, which with vinyl queues as they are now is honest rather than vague.
