Cirith Ungol have released Venus in Thirds, the second piece of All the Shadows to come out ahead of the album on 30 October through No Remorse Records.
The choice is the interesting part. Thrashocore's tracklist puts Venus in Thirds eighth of eight, which means the band have now shown the first song and the last song and nothing in between. The title track came out when the album was announced; this one is what the record walks towards.
How it sounds: slower than the title track, the guitars left ringing rather than chugged, and Tim Baker's voice, in this band since 1976, sitting at the top of its range and staying there. A closing track from this band is usually the one with the most space in it, and that holds here.
The eight tracks are All The Shadows, This Mortal Stain, Turning Blind, Shallow Reflection, Empty Tomb, On Broken Wings, Hollow Nimbus and Venus In Thirds.
