Cloven Hoof release Never a Prophet in Your Own Land tomorrow, 25 September, through High Roller Records.
Ten songs: Terror from the Sky, Conquistador, Never a Prophet, Gypsy Roller, The Bigger They Are, The Man in the Iron Mask, Phantom Chaser, Flying Dutchman, Prodigal Son and Seven Sacred Wonders. High Roller has put out lyric videos for Conquistador and for the Iron Mask song ahead of the release.
It is the eleventh album and it comes two years after Heathen Cross. The band started in Wolverhampton in 1979, early enough to be counted into the new wave of British heavy metal, and Lee Payne, who was there for that, has been back on bass since 2001.
Harry Conklin, who sings in Jag Panzer, joined in 2023. Chris Dando, in since 2022, sings and plays keyboards. Chris Coss has been on guitar since 2011, Luke Hatton since 2014, and Ash Baker covers guitars and drums.
