Crescendium release their second album DRAC on 11 November, and the video for Dämmerlicht is out ahead of it.

The track list says what kind of record it is before a note plays. Six pieces, opening with Prologue: As Within, So Without and closing with Epilogue: As the Universe, So the Soul, with four songs between them. Those two titles are halves of the same hermetic formula, which means the album is bracketed rather than sequenced.

The four in the middle are Dämmerlicht, Ravish My Flesh Soil My Name, Anderswelt and Chandra, and they move between German and English without settling, which melodic black metal from Germany often does when the writing is personal in one language and theatrical in the other.

Dämmerlicht is the one with a video, so it is the band's own choice of entry point rather than the obvious single.

The German band's first album ended with its heroine burned alive and returning worse, so a record braced between a prologue and an epilogue is a continuation of method rather than a departure.
