Critical Defiance release Rivers of Blood tomorrow, 25 September, through Dying Victims Productions.
Eight tracks, two of them barely tracks at all: Red Omen opens the record at 1:21 and Ceremony of the Final Call runs 44 seconds. The weight sits in the middle, on Valparaíso at 7:58, which is more than twice the length of anything else here and takes its name from the region the band comes from. Dying Victims has the title track and Dead Tongues out already.
The band formed in Villa Alemana in 2010 and has been one of the reasons people started looking at Chile again, after Misconception in 2019 and No Life Forms in 2022. Felipe Alvarado sings and plays guitar and is the only one there from the start; Rodrigo Poblete has drummed since 2018, Mauricio Toledo joined on guitar in 2021, Diego Tello and Sebastián Palominos in 2024. A split with DET follows on 23 October.
