Crom have parted ways with their drummer, Xavier, two months after he joined. The reason given is a move away from the band's hometown that came at the last minute, and the band are looking for someone else.
Nothing about this is a falling out, which is worth saying plainly because a line up announcement this quick usually invites the assumption. A drummer who relocates is a drummer who cannot make rehearsals, and for a band from Landshut, in Bavaria, that is the end of it.
Crom have been going since 1997 and are still unsigned by choice as much as by circumstance, with four albums behind them and The Era of Darkness, from 2023, the most recent. The project is built around the singer and multi instrumentalist who uses the same name as the band, which is why a drummer leaving does not stop the writing.
What it does stop is playing live. No dates have been announced, and the search is open.
