Crowbar are on Sonic Temple 2027, announced alongside Primus and Clutch. The festival runs from 13 to 16 May at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, and the organisers say the full line up follows next week.
Three names dropped together, one from each direction: a bass trio who have never belonged to any scene, a band who have spent thirty years between hard rock and stoner, and the heaviest sludge band New Orleans produced. That spread is what a four day American festival now has to book to fill a stadium.
For Crowbar it is the kind of slot that suits them. Kirk Windstein's band have never headlined anything this size and have never stopped being the reference point for everyone who plays slow and heavy, so an afternoon in front of a crowd that came for other people is where they do damage.
Everything else waits on next week. The two names already out were A Perfect Circle and these three, which is not yet a bill.
