Crownshift have released In The Dead Of Night with a video, through Nuclear Blast.

The band exist because four Finnish musicians with long histories wanted something that was not any of their previous bands. Daniel Freyberg came out of Children of Bodom, Jukka Koskinen plays bass in Nightwish, Heikki Saari drums in Finntroll, and Tommy Tuovinen sings in a register none of those bands would have asked him for.

What came out of it on the 2024 debut was melodic death metal with the melodies doing more work than the death metal, and progressive arrangements that stopped short of showing off. The obvious trap for a band with this line-up is sounding like a tribute to the members' day jobs, and they avoided it.

The video is out now and nothing has been said about an album behind it, which usually means there is one.

Nuclear Blast have kept the band on the roster since the debut, and a song arriving with a full video rather than a lyric clip is a label spending money on something it expects to sell.
