Crucified Barbara will not play either of their two British dates in November. The festival appearance at Hard Rock Hell on 6 November and the London show at The Dome on 7 November are both cancelled.
The band put the order of events plainly. "Hardrock Hell festival has been cancelled," they said, "and since that festival was a prerequisite for us to play the show in London, the London show at The Dome unfortunately has to be cancelled as well."
That is the arithmetic behind most short runs of this size. A band crosses a sea for one guaranteed fee and fills the night before or after with a club date that only pays for itself because the travel is already covered. Remove the festival and the club date is no longer a show, it is a loss.
"We are deeply disappointed and saddened by this situation, especially for everyone of you who had already bought your tickets," the band said, adding that they hope to see those audiences soon.
Tickets for The Dome are being refunded. For the festival itself the band point ticket holders at the organisers rather than at themselves, which is the usual division when a promoter rather than a band calls a weekend off.
