Cutterred Flesh have released Le Horla, the second song out through Transcending Obscurity after The Letter U.
The title is taken from Maupassant, whose story of the same name is a diary kept by a man who becomes certain that an invisible being has moved into his house and is drinking from his water jug while he sleeps. It is one of the few horror stories that works entirely through the narrator losing his footing rather than through anything happening, and Maupassant wrote it while his own mind was going.
That is a more literary place to take a title than brutal death metal usually goes, and it follows a song named after a letter of the alphabet, so this band are clearly amusing themselves.
They have been working for twenty five years out of Karlovy Vary, and reaching a label with worldwide distribution from there took most of that time.
Seven albums are behind them, with the early ones closer to brutal death metal than the later ones.
