Dawn Of Solace release Skeletons on 12 February, their fifth album, with the title track out now as a video.

This is the project Tuomas Saukkonen keeps for the slow material, away from Wolfheart, and the interesting part of the announcement is the direction. The label says the record leans harder on growled vocals than any before it, set against Mikko Heikkilä's clean singing, which has always been the thing that made this band sound like nothing else on the roster.

Ten tracks, written around the weight of doom but reaching into death and gothic metal, which is a description that could be marketing on anyone else and is a reasonably precise account of what this man actually writes.

Twenty one years since he started it in Lahti and only five albums, because Saukkonen spends most of his time elsewhere. Affliction Vortex came out last year, so this is a fast turnaround by this project's standards. Reaper Entertainment release it.
