Day of Doom have released The Quiet Design, a five song EP and the first thing they have put out since Doomed in 2022. "Unseen Among" has a video on their label's channel.

The songs are "Manufactured Divide", "Unseen Among", the title track, "Lies" and "When Mask Fall". Five songs is an unusual length for this band, who have spent twenty years making full albums, and an EP after a four year gap reads less like a stopgap than like a band working out whether they still want to make the long ones.

They formed in 1999 and are split between Middle Island on Long Island and central Florida, which is two of the most productive death metal geographies in the United States and an awkward way to run a band. Six albums have come out of it, from Night of Horror in 2006 to Doomed, with a compilation and a live record in between.

3 Demons Records have them now. The EP is out and nothing has been said about what follows it.
