Dead End Finland have released "Mercy of Fools" from Carbon, which Inverse Records put out on 12 March.

Look at the tracklist and the record's history is written into it. "Adrenaline" came out as a single in 2024, "The Reason" and "Remembrance" in 2025, and all three sit on the album alongside the new song. Four of its ten tracks will have been public before anyone hears the whole thing.

That is a release strategy rather than an accident, and it is the one small bands with a sixteen year career increasingly use: put a song out every few months, keep the streaming numbers alive, and let the album collect them at the end. The cost is that the record stops being a surprise. The benefit is that it gets heard at all.

The Helsinki band formed in 2010 and this will be their sixth album. An interlude sits in the middle of the ten tracks, and "Epilogue" closes it.
